Hello. In this tutorial i will show you how to create a layers bureau layout.
I will create a new document with the following sizes 980x1000
I like very much how people are allowed to write tutorials on Insanelyart.com The user back end is very nice. I am a member from a few days, but right now i have discovered how many things are available for users. good job Insanelyart.com
This is my final result for this tutorial. 
I will select Rectangle Tool
and i will change the foreground color to #00000
I will start drawing a simple rectangle on the top of the layout. this will be the header of the template
In the same area i will create a rectangle with the following color #b3b3b3
For this gray layout i will add the following layer styles
Gradient Overlay
Stroke
This is my result
I will create a new white rectangle under the previous one
For this shape i will change the layer opacity to 30%
Then i will create 2 rectangles with the same 2 rectangles with the same layer styles like on my previous rectangle
I will create another one with the following clor #959391, and i will place the shape like in the following image
then i will select Rounded Rectangle Tool
With this tool, i will add some shapes on the top of the layout with the following color #b4b2af
I will change the opacity to 60% and the fill to 80%
this is my result
I will select all the shapes in my layer palette, and i will press on CTRL+E to merge all the shapes into a single one. Then i will press on CTRL+J to duplicate the layer, and with Move Tool, i will place them like in the following image
I will create another rectangle with the following color #000000
For this simple shape i will add the following layer styles:
Drop shadow
Color overlay
This is my result
I will add a image from my personal collection
Then i will select one more time Rectangle tool, and i will create another shape on top of all layers. I will try to hide some parts of the header
I will create another rectangle with the following color #808080
I will rasterize this shape ( to rasterize a shape you have to right click on the layer , then choose Rasterize )
With Eraser tool
I will delete the bottom part of the shape. Please be careful what type of brush you select. I have a smooth round brush selected
With the following color #9b9b9b i will create another shape
For this shape i will change the opacity value to 65% and the fill value 80%
I will add also some layer styles
Drop Shadow
this is my result
I will create another rectangle with the following color #fffff and i will change the fill to 90%
With Polygon tool
I will create another shape
Then i will load the selection for this layer. To load the selection you need to go to Select > Load selection
If the option is not enabled, you need to rasterize the shape first. Right click on the layer inside your layer palette, then choose Rasterize
Or you can click on the Layer thumbnail while you hold the CTRL key pressed
You will notice a selection surrounding the black shape. Now you have to select the white shape layer, then press on Delete
I will create another 2 rectangles with the following color #504f50 I will place them like in the following color
With Horizontal type tool
I will write a few lines of text :)
Then with Custom shape tool
I will add some minor details on my layout with the following shape
Then i will place it on my header with the following color #3b3a3a
After that i will choose another shape:
And i will place it withe the following color #3b3a3a
I will grab Line tool
and i will draw a line like in the following screen shot
I will choose Rasterize layer, by right clicking on the layer, and choose rasterize shape
I will delete the left and the right part of the layout with eraser tool, and with a smooth round brush
Then i will create a few copies, and i will place them like in the following image
Then i will select Rectangle Tool, and i will create a layer with the following color
#fffff
Then i will add some images on this layout for a layer bureau
I will select one more time Rounded rectangle tool and i will create 3 shapes.
These 3 shapes have the same layer styles

This is my final result. Very soon i will transform this layout into a css / xhtml website
